Responsibilities:
Job Description
The Equity Reconciliations/Investigations team provides the post-settlement support to SCB WB's Financial Markets Equities businesses, comprising Equity Derivatives, Convertible Bonds Trading and Cash Equities businesses, including cash equity agency brokerage business transacted through the SCB securities companies, Standard Chartered Securities (Hong Kong) Limited and Standard Chartered Securities (Singapore) Pte Limited (trading and clearing members of HKEx and SGX respectively). The equity products supported include shares, convertible bonds, listed and OTC equity derivatives, equity-linked notes, SCB-issued participation warrants/certificates, and SBL (securities borrowing and lending).

The team forms part of the Securities Operations department of the Financial Market Operations business unit.

The core purpose of this role is to:
• Ensure a robust and effective control framework and set of procedures is in place in supporting this business activity
• Ensure exceptions are identified, escalated, addressed and rectified in a timely manner
• Assist in driving continual process improvement and change as required to progress the function in alignment with control standards, business ambitions and the FMO operational model

Key Roles & Responsibilities
Key responsibilities for this role include, but are not limited to:

Daily Functions
• Ensuring all nostro, depository and suspense reconciliation breaks are identified, escalated, addressed and rectified in a timely manner, in accordance with functional DOIs and procedures.
• Assisting to ensure all new entities, accounts and instruments are set up in accordance with the downstream control environment.
• Continuous application of Group policies, procedures and standards to the control environment surrounding the support of the FM Equities businesses.
• Ensuring dynamic, effective and open communication and interaction between the team and stakeholders.
• Participation in system/project UAT as and when required.

Continuous Improvement
• Identification and participation in the driving of continual process improvements addressing deficiencies within the function.
• Participation in management meetings and other forums where required, as a subject matter expert.

Qualifications & Skills
• Candidate must possess a Degree or Diploma or Professional qualification in any field.
• 3 years work experience in the Banking/Finance industry is a plus.
• Candidates with Engineering, Accounting, Mathematics and business related qualifications would be preferred.
• Experience in Banking or Equities is not essential but would be a plus.
• Possesses strong English communication and written skills with good inter-personal relationship skills.
• Extremely high attention to detail and a desire to learn and grow within the role.
• Ability to meet tight deadlines.
• Able to work autonomously, but also be a good team player.
• High analytical and problem solving abilities.
